100% attendance is required in order to receive your certificate. Our teacher training course is intensive and demands compulsory attendance for compulsory contact hours of training. In case of continuous absence, except in serious medical conditions, the participant may not receive certification and additional hours of study on a future training will be required at a cost to the student.
If the student has any slight sickness and unable to practice intense Asana class, we strongly encourage such students to attend the class and observe the teachings. In our experience we have noticed that being present and observing the class can still help the students to assimilate the teachings.
In respect for the group and the teachers we request that students arrive in ample time before the beginning of every class.
Certification is given on the basis of trainee’s performance, attendance and passing the final written and practical exams. All students are required to achieve the pass rates in exams and assessments. If a student fails in any part of the training re-takes will be offered at additional expense. It is our experience that all students who apply themselves to the best of their ability pass. However in the unlikely event that a student has not grasped the fundamentals of teaching or cannot teach in a safe and effective way Amy’s Ashram reserves the right to maintain its teaching standards.
In cases where the standard has not been met ‘further training will be recommended’ and if this is all completed then the trainee may pass. Passing the course is not guaranteed by attendance only.
Relating to others
If you have any personal problems or difficulties with anybody on the training (teacher or student) please talk to Amy Clay so she can mediate and support a flowing relationship to be established. We all grow by learning from being in relationship with others
This training is NOT for anyone on medication for serious physical or mental conditions unless covered by a doctor’s note. NEITHER is it suitable for anyone who is emotionally unstable. On arrival to the training one of the things we request is that all students sign a disclaimer stating that they are fit and healthy both mentally and physically and they are prepared for intensive practices that may lead to emotional and physical releases. Ultimately we ask that each person take responsibility for himself or herself. This means resting when needing to or ‘backing off’ when one feels about to move beyond any personal limitation (physical or mental). If a student experiences any kind of crisis we are there to help and be supportive, however it must be recognised that we are not doctors or trained councilors.
